Playing at top stage is considered to be one of the hardest things especially for the bowlers. They bowl with their heart and still goes for plenty of runs in their quota. In this post we will have a look at the top 5 worst bowling figures in the world cup history.

5. James Anderson(England):
                              In the recently concluded world cup jimmy Anderson, one of the finest bowlers of this era was hammered all over the park by Indian batsmen, as a result India posted a mammoth target of 338 for England, the match resulted as a tie. This is one of the most exciting matches in world cup history.
In this match Jimmy conceded 91 runs from his 9.5 overs.

4. Rudi van Vuuren (Namibia):
                        4th in the list of the bowlers with worst bowling figures in World Cup is Rudi van Vuuren, a medium fast bowler, who represented Namibia in the 2003 World Cup. This unwanted feat was achieved on 27th February 2003, as he went on to concede 92 runs from his 10 overs. Australia scored 301 runs in the match, but that was too much an ask for Namibia as they folded for just 45 runs, conceding the match by a margin of 256 runs.

3. Dwayne Levrock(Bermuda):
                          3rd in the list with worst bowling figures is Bermuda's left arm orthodox spinner Dwane levrock. He achieved this feet in 2007 world cup against India, as he went on to concede 96 runs in his 10 overs. India went onto score 413 runs at the end, which is the highest team total in world cup's till date. India won this match with a margin of 257 runs.

2. Ashantha de Mel(Sri Lanka):
                           2nd in the list of the bowlers with worst bowling figures in World Cup cricket is the Sri Lankan medium pacer, Ashantha de Mel. It was the first World Cup hosted in the sub-continent, and the wanted feat was achieved on 13th October 1987 as de Mel went on to conceded 97 runs from his 10 overs. The match is more remembered for the blistering innings of Vivian Richards, who scored 181 runs from 125 balls in that match with the help of 16 fours and 7 sixes. West Indies won the match by 191 runs but failed to bowl out Sri Lanka as Asanka Gurusinha played a Gavaskar-like knock of 108-ball 36.

1.  Martin Snedden (New Zealand):
                                 The owner of this unwanted record is Martin Snedden of New Zealand as he went on to concede 105 runs from the 12 overs he bowled against England in the 1st match of the 1983 Prudential World Cup. He is the only bowler to have conceded more than 100 runs in an innings in the history of Cricket World Cup.
