Former England wicketkeeper, Craig Kieswetter, could find out if his cricket career is over this week, as he battles back from a horrific facial injury he suffered while playing for Somerset in the County Championship against Northamptonshire.
In recent weeks, there have been growing concerns over Kieswetter’s career with some reports suggesting that he will be forced to retire early.

He is due to see a specialist in Belgium this week. Matthew Maynard, the new Somerset director of cricket, admitted that the injury Kieswetter suffered is ‘potentially career ending’.
He said, “We're hoping that after he sees the specialist he'll have a method of getting his eye back to 100 per cent. The feedback we get from that will be quite instrumental, but potentially it could be career-ending.”
We are planning for him to not be around this season: Maynard
He returned to championship cricket at the end of the season and this winter, was playing T20 cricket in South Africa this winter, but stopped after realizing he was having problems with his vision.
Maynard continued, “He came back for a couple of games and although he knew the eye wasn't quite right, he was just delighted to be back playing at that stage.
“But then he went out to play in South Africa in the Twenty20 and he struggled. He was struggling to pick up the line and length of the ball.
“If you can't do that, it's going to be hard to score runs and it also makes you very vulnerable. If we were to get him back that would be a huge lift for everyone. But we are planning for him to not be around this season.”
