Alviro Petersen quits Internation cricket

Alviro Nathan Petersen, a right handed batsmen has announced his retirement from international cricket following the series against West Indies. He made his test debut against India at Eden gardens, kolkata in 2010 and ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2006.
                      After the third test had finished, Petersen read out a statement as he was sorrounded by his applauding team mates.
I feel that at 34 it is time for me to retire from Int cricket and move on with my career, " he said. I intend playing county and franchise cricket for the next three years and also concentrating on my foundation and my cricket school.
                    "It has been an honor to represent my country and to be paart of a South African Test team that is ranked number one in the world. I want to thank Cricket South Africa, my team mates, sponsors and cricket fans for all the support and memories over the years. I will miss the Proteas amazing team culture that we have built, International cricket, and espically, my team mates but it is time to move on."
                     He finishes having played 36 Tests, scoring 2093 runs at 34.88 with five hundreds, including one on debut against India in Kolkata, and haroon Lorgat. He can look back into his career with great pride and satisfaction having contributed to the golden era of SA cricket.
