Kannaur Lokesh Rahul is a 22 year old tall and elegant batsmen who can keep wickets. Rahul was a part of India's squad in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup and made his first-class debut later that year. contributions with the bat were steady rather than spectacular. In the long format, however, his technique and application have impressed some of Indian cricket's most respected names. After scoring spectacular 100's in both the innings of Duleep Trophy final, he has caught the eyes of Indian Selectors to select him for the Australia tour.
As everyone expected, RG Sharma is not part of the third test match between Ind vs Aus, but what surprised everyone is the inclusion of young Rahul in the playing XI choosing ahead of left handed suresh Raina. I think its a brave decision by Dhoni, the fact that Rahul is professional opener in domestic circuit, this can send warning bells to Shikhar Dhawan who is constantly failing to convert his starts.
